Baptism
Baptism (also known as Christening) is available at St Michael's to those who live in the district or have a long-standing connection with the church. We welcome families with babies or young children, older children and adults. Although for teenagers and adults, Baptism is usually associated with confirmation.
At the baptism service parents and Godparents are called upon to promise to bring their children up as Christians and to declare their own belief in the Christian faith.

Confirmation
For those baptised in infancy the service of Confirmation is an opportunity for both adults and children to 'confirm' their own personal faith in Jesus Christ. In preparation for this, a series of meetings take place to explore in greater depth the nature of the Christian faith. There is no pass or fail just an honest desire to walk as a disciple of Christ and for this journey to move ever forward.

Weddings
We believe that marriage is a gift from God. In the marriage ceremony, a man and woman make a public declaration of lifelong commitment to love each other, come what may. Many couples choose to be married in church because they wish to demonstrate before God that they are serious about the vows they are taking. When we invite God to be a part of this special day, we are asking for his blessing and strength to help us live out our promises. Funerals
At St Michael's, we recognise that grief is a natural response to loss, it's emotional suffering you feel when something or someone you love is taken away. The death of a loved one is often the most intense type of grief we feel – but whatever your loss, it's personal to you.
No matter how prepared we may think we are, death turns our world upside down. There are many questions that our team of experienced funeral ministers will help you and your family with along this journey that you find yourselves on.
